Kalasin's Pong Lang and Phrae Wa Festival of 2014

Talking about Kalasin,on the one hand, you may think of Gala silk because of the pronunciation and the spelling of the name. Actually, Kalasin is a Sanskrit word which means black water. That is the reason why sometimes someone write Kalasindhu to remind us of the root of the language.
On the other hand, you may think of a kind of local silk cloth named Phrae Wa which is unique and famous throughout the country if not throughout the globe.

During 19-26 of March 2014

the province is going to celebrate its 220 year anniversary. You will discover aspects of cultural activities in our province.
We are proud to present to you  our provincial slogan.

However, right now in 2016 we expanded our slogans by adding "Luang Phor Ong Dam Lue Lueng" in front of the existing one to honor the ancient Lord Buddha Image that is an important part of the history of our province.
The Wat Klang temple in the capital city of the province has decently displayed the image for all Buddhists to pay their respect to the Lord Buddha around the years.
